Every January, for the last thirty three years, United Seniors of Maryland has held a Legislative Rally in Annapolis, filling the auditorium at Saint John’s College with seniors from all parts of the State. The United Seniors Legislative Rally is where we lobby for senior issues, and where the voice of seniors is heard loud and clear.

This year, three Town Hall Meetings were held - one with the Governor, one with the Speaker of the House of Delegates, and one with the Minority Leader of the House of Delegates.  A moderator asked questions submitted by the audience.

At mid day, participants met in caucuses with their Local Delegations to present and discuss the main issues for which United Seniors will be lobbying.

During the day, there were comments by the Secretary of the Department of Aging.  There were remarks, also, by a representative for the Mayor of Annapolis, a representative for the County Executive, and other dignitaries.

There was a presentation of this year’s Champion for Seniors Award Sue Ward, who has done outstanding work on behalf of seniors.

David Roseman received the President's Award for his contributions to USM.

There were exhibitors with information and take away items.

There was extensive media coverage.
